You have the following options:

To use the buses, subway, trains and tolls throughout the country, it is convenient to have the SUBE card.

Its cost is US $ 1.50 and you can use it as credit for your trips. You can purchase and recharge it at any National Lottery, Subway Station, Trains, Automatic Terminals (TAS) and some kiosks. Also from your bank account. Do not accept additional charges for your cargo, this is punishable.

            1. Buses, in Buenos Aires are called collectives. There are 3 fares to travel within the city. They work during the 24 hours with frequencies that oscillate between 2 and 40 minutes, depending on the line, the time and the day.

            2. Subterranean is called Subte. It consists of 6 lines and 85 stations. There is only one rate. The hours of service are from Monday to Friday from 05.30 to 23.30., Saturday from 06.00 to 24.00 and on Sundays and holidays from 08.00 to 22.00.

            3. Trains. It consists of 6 lines and 42 stations. There are 3 fares but only the first one is used to travel within the city. The schedule depends on each line and is approximate. The service from Monday to Friday from 04.30 to 22.30. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays from 05.30 to 23.15 hs.

There are two airports:

    1. Aeroparque (Jorge Newbery) used for local flights.

    2. International Airport (Ministro Pistarini), located at approximately 45 minutes far from the city of Ezeiza, Buenos Aires Province.

There are many kiosks, where you can buy sweets, cigarettes, soft drinks, and many more things, for example, pens, condoms, shampoo, digestives, aspirins, telephone cards, and so forth. Those placed in the city centre are opened almost all day, and some even during the 24 hours.

Electricity is 220 volts.

They work from Mondays to Fridays from 10.00 am to 3.00 pm.

You can find them in almost every bank during the 24 hours and you can withdraw cash in pesos. 

Security is good but you have to take some measures to avoid problems. Some of our recommendations for enjoying your stay without any problem are the following:

    • Take copies of your documents when you get out of the apartment.

    • Avoid empty streets or public places during the night.

There are a lot of laundries. You have to buy a U$S 3,00 token to have your clothes washed and dried. Then you have to go back and pick up your clothes which will be given to you in a big bag.
